A replacement pressure release valve fitted with a pin to pierce Sparklet type gas bottles to allow the injection of additional gas into your barrel. It can be fitted to any 2" or 4" barrel with a suitable size hole in the barrel lid. A standard pin valve WILL NOT generally work safely or efficiently with Hambleton Bard S30 gas cylinders, but will work with Sodastream gas cylinders if fitted with the appropriate adapter. Having said that, there are currently two widely available types of pin valve on the market and whilst both are the same size and thus interchangeable, they are slightly different designs and have different properties. The ones supplied by Youngs have a single pin approx 10-15mm long which is an integral part of the valve. The ones supplied by Ritchies have a small, moveable 3-5mm pin inserted into the valve chamber of a standard S30 valve and is held in place by a flexible rubber O-ring. This means that if you have purchased a standard barrel fitted with a Ritchies pin-valve and then purchase a King Keg, Beersphere or Rotokeg which is fitted with an S30 valve, you have the option of removing the pin from your pin valve and using a Hambleton Bard S30 cylinder to introduce gas into both your barrels. |
