All of the product prices displayed on this website are listed inclusive of VAT and are the prices you would pay if you were to visit our store in Colchester. For anybody unable to visit us, we are happy to provide a full mail order facility and add the following charges to cover postage, packing and administration. The rates are based on Royal Mail 1st class postage for small items, and NEXT DAY nationwide parcel delivery via the APC parcel network for all other items. All transport charges include VAT at standard rate.
These rates are based upon the total weight of your order, not on each individual item, so you can save postage and packing charges by combining several items within a single order, up to a maximum weight of 30kgs. WE ONLY SHIP TO UK AND IRISH DESTINATIONS AND ARE UNABLE TO SERVICE THE REST OF THE WORLD.
We believe that once you've ordered your items, you should receive them as quickly and cost effectively as possible. There are plenty of cheap overnight carriers available in the market place, but they don't always deliver when they are supposed to or without damaging the goods. There are plenty of completely reliable, service orientated carriers who provide a truly dedicated service, but they tend to be too expensive to use when shipping small items.
We have therefore chosen to use the APC overnight parcels network for our larger items who, whilst not the cheapest in the market place, provide, in our opinion, the best possible compromise between reliable service levels and sensible prices. In over 99% of all cases, our parcels are generally out for delivery on the NEXT WORKING DAY after we have shipped them.
Our smaller items all travel via Royal Mail's 1st class service, which we find achieves next day delivery in MOST cases.
We also provide FREE* delivery on all orders over £100.00 to UK Mainland destinations. (Not Scottish Highlands or Northern Ireland or on any orders in excess of 30kgs total weight)* When you get to the checkout page select ANY shipment method and the full transport charge will be deducted as soon as you are transferred to the secure payment handling system.
For items ordered and despatched Monday to Thursday, we would anticipate 1-2 day delivery if the item is sent via the postage system, or Next Day delivery if sent using our overnight parcel carrier. For items ordered and despatched Friday, we would anticipate Monday delivery for all items. Any items ordered over the weekend will be processed and despatched on Monday. Large and bulky items over 1kg will always be sent for next working day delivery via our overnight parcel courier, APC Overnight, and will require a signature. If you are not going to be home, please leave written instructions for the driver to deliver to a neighbour or to leave the items in a safe place. The driver will need to be able to remove these instructions and will carry them out at entirely at your risk. Saturday is not normally considered a working day but can be arranged at extra cost if required.
Deliveries to the Isle of Wight and Isle of Man attract surcharges on top of the courier delivery charges listed above. The correct price will be calculated and displayed during the checkout procedure.
"Lowland Scotland" is taken to mean all those areas North of the border to the Clyde and the Forth and includes Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Perth. It DOES NOT include areas with the following postcodes, for which a higher rate is unfortunately applicable.
Sottish Highland Postcodes: AB, FK19-21, HS1-9, IV, KA, KW, PH15-50, PA21-76, ZE1-3
Deliveries to Scottish Offshore locations covered by postcodes : HS1-9, IV41-56, KA27-28, KW15-17, PA20, PA41-49, PA62-76 and PH42-44, will take at least TWO working days to achieve.
These areas are also exempt from our FREE DELIVERY offer for orders over £100.00, though they are eligible for a discount as detailed below. Unfortunately, our shipping calculation matrix is currently unable to differentiate between specific postcode locations and will offer Free delivery to these areas if your order is above the £100.00 free delivery limit. If this happens on your order, we will contact you and offer you the choice between paying the additional shipping charge (via a Paypal or Google invoice) or cancelling the order and receiving a COMPLETE refund. *Our Free Delivery, option which is available on purchases over £100.00, does not apply to the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, IOW, IOM and the Channel Isles ,or on orders that have a total combined weight in excess of 30kgs. If you place an order from one of these locations or with a total weight above this 30kg limit, we will instead provide a discount of £6.50 from the total shipping cost, representing the standard rates our carriers charge us for deliveries to UK mainland destinations. (The remainder of our delivery charge represents packing costs.)
