The Coopers range of home brew beer kits all contain 1.7kgs of premium quality Australian barley.
This Coopers Real Ale homebrewing kit produces 40 pints of Australian style dark, malty beer. It needs a kilo of sugar or brewing sugar to be added with the water. With 1.7kgs of malt extract, it will be a slightly lighter, thinner bodied beer than most of our homebrew kits, which contain at least 1.8 kgs of malt extract.
"I made it up to 32 pints with Tesco mineral water and 1kg of brew enhancer then split it in half and further diluted it to get one batch of 17 pints and one of 19 pints (next time I would not do the 17 pints). It was excellent but being fuller, is less of a session beer. Overall verdict was that it is a good, rounded, smooth beer, not too bitter or hoppy and, for me, much better than the Woodfordes Wherry. In our beer festival of 12th April 2009, all of it went and people were surprised at the flavour, quality and overall drink. I would not make a "budget kit" at 40 pints now without using a beer enhancer."
