This clever little device allows you to test the alcohol content of your beer and wine without the need for a hydrometer. Vinometers are generally accurate for readings between 0-25% ABV if testing liquids at 20°C
A small sample of the liquid to be tested is poured VERY gently into the capillary tube, just until it begins to drip from the bottom of the tube. The Vinometer is then inverted and the contents allowed to run back down towards the "tulip" end. As it does so, the alcohol level can be read from the scale along the vinometer body.
Extreme care should be taken to avoid getting any air bubbles in the thin inner tube as this will distort any readings.
